Coming into the tournament after defending his IBSF 6-Red World Championship title in Karachi last month, Advani took the packed Thai arena by storm, posting a convincing 5-2 win against last year's champion Stephen Maguire of UK. (Pankaj Advani Bags 13th World Championship)
Earlier today, Bengaluru's 'Golden Boy' whitewashed Alan Trigg 5-0, leaving himself in contention to top his group with one league match left before the knockout stage starts.
In between, Advani was also able to cue past another dangerous and established professional from China, Liang Wenbo 5-1.
