Archery World Cup: Indian Men, Women Finish 2nd in Recurve Ranking Round
While the men's troika of Mangal Singh Champia, Bulbul Marandi and Rahul Banerjee accumulated 1,981 points in total, the women's team having the likes of heavyweights Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Rimil Buriuly got to a score of 1,933.

Indian recurve archers were on target, picking up the second slot in both the men's and women's competitions in the qualification round of the World Cup third leg here on Wednesday.
While the men's troika of Mangal Singh Champia, Bulbul Marandi and Rahul Banerjee accumulated 1,981 points in total, the women's team having the likes of heavyweights Deepika Kumari, Bombayla Devi and Rimil Buriuly got to a score of 1,933.
In the mixed team too, India qualified as the third ranked team. Deepika and Champia gathered a total of 1,321 points at the Academy For Physical Education field.
In the recurve men's qualification round, Champia's individual rank was 12th with 663 points. Marandi took the 15th spot with 661 points.
Champia's team-mate Banerjee carded 657, while Jayanta Talukdar was placed a rung under Banerjee at 22 with 656 points.
In the women's recurve contest, India's very own superstar Deepika Kumari qualified second into the knock out after amassing 658 points, a step behind Aida Roma of Mexico who had 665 points to her credit.
Bombayla, Buriuly and Laxmirani made it to the next round too with scores of 645, 630 and 630 respectively.
In the compound teams event, India were placed 4th, 5th and 10th in the men's, women's and mixed team event respectively.
The compound men's category saw Preet Kawal Singh take the 20th position followed by Abhishek Verma at 23. World Archery championship silver medalist Rajat Chauhan had to settle for the 25th spot in the qualification round. Jignas Chittiboma was placed at 28.
Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Lily Chanu Paonam, Purvasha Sudhir Shende and Priyanshu Kachhap all qualified from the women's compound category.
The men's team comprised Rajat, Abhishek and Kawal Preet carded 2,085, while the women's team had the services of Lily, Purvasha and Jyoti who put in a combined effort for 2,085.
The mixed team had Kawal Preet and Jyoti who bagged 1,378 points.
