Tainted shotputter Inderjeet Singh has tested negative in the second dope test that was conducted on June 29, sources told NDTV.
However, it does not mean that he can now represent India at the 2016 Rio Olympics, after testing positive in the first dope test on June 22.
The 2015 Asian championship gold medallist faces a maximum ban of four years.
On Tuesday, Singh had cried foul after failing the first dope test.
"I have been framed because I am outspoken. This is a conspiracy against me," he said.
"I was shocked when I found out I failed dope test. I have never said no to dope tests. This is the best way to stop an athlete from competing."
"We had requested NADA through the Athletics Federation of India to give us all the detailed reports of the tests conducted for Inderjeet Singh," shotputter Harjit Singh said.
"Inderjeet tested positive on June 22. But if we take a look at the report of June 27, it mentions that no banned susbstance has been detected. The salt that Inder had tested positive for was anabolic steroid," Singh quoted the mail sent by NADA.
"I have always said that he has been framed and the urine sample has been tampered with so this automatically proves the point," Harjit added.
