An email claiming to be from India's ace racqueter Saurav Ghoshal, seeking monetary help on Tuesday created confusion among squash fraternity, which later proved to be a handy work of hackers.
On a day when the Indian lost his opening round match in the Australian Open at Canberra, the hacker, posing as Ghosal sent a dubious e-mail to this PTI reporter from his id -- saurav.ghosal@gmail.com -- informing him about his family condition in Spain and requesting for monetary help.
The hacker, though, gave a different id -- saurav.ghosal@ymail.com -- for replying to his mail.
The reporter received the mail this afternoon and the hacker requested the receiver to send immediate monetary help to him in a hotel in Spain, where all the cash and credit cards belonging to them were stolen off.
The email read: "I'm writing this with tears in my eyes my family and I came down here to Malaga, Spain for a short vacation. Unfortunately we were mugged at the park of the hotel where we stayed all cash, credit card and cell were stolen off us but luckily for us we still have our passports with us."
"We've been to the embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all and our flight leaves in less than four hours from now but we're having problems settling the hotel bills and the hotel manager won't let us leave until we settle the bills.
"Am freaked out at the moment..... I need your Help," added the mail.
It seems Ghosal is not aware of the development as no clarification has been issued by the player neither to his fans nor on his facebook and twitter accounts.
