Goodwin, 29, was born and brought up in Norway where her father, Steve, an ex-Norwich and Southend midfielder, finished his career.
"I applied to go on Big Brother for a bit of fun," she told dailymail.co.uk.
"I went in as a reserve and my philosophy in life or sport is, I'm in it to win it. It's certainly not the taking part that counts!
"I didn't have any real game-plan. I just aimed to be myself. It worked and I was a bit of a celeb for a while.
"It was a great start to my life because to have that extra bit of money at 22 meant I could repay my student loans. I got my bachelor degree in nursing and now work as a psychiatric nurse."
Recruited by Team Great Britain, she may not strike gold but giving up without a fight is not what she will do, ever.
