Jaipur Pink Panthers on Wednesday beat Bengaluru Bulls 24-22 in a closely-contested encounter to lead the points table in the Pro-Kabaddi League Season 4.
Captain Jasvir Singh scored five raids points and Rajesh Narwal scored one bonus point and three raid points to lay the foundations for Jaipur's win.
The hosts remain at sixth position with 21 points from nine games. Both teams were almost equal in terms of scoring raid points with Bengaluru and Jaipur, bagging 13 and 12 points each.
However, Jaipur scored over the hosts by winning nine tackle points against six bagged by Bengaluru. Both teams sketched two all out points each, and also scoring one extra points each.
Trailing 9-15 in the first half, the hosts began the second half confidently, winning points constantly. Ashish Kumar brought his team 14-15 with a crucial two points raid in 24th minute.
For the first time in the match, Bengaluru edged past with the scoreline reading 17-16 in 26th minute after they downed Jasvir for an all out.
Bulls' defence got their act together in the second half as they scored three tackle points to lead 19-17 after 29 minutes. It was a tied game after 30 minutes as both teams continued to battle hard.
After 35 minutes, it was 21-21 as both teams were looking to play on do-or-die raids. The Pink Panthers took a two-point lead with less then three minutes to go. Jaipur held their nerve, played out a few empty raids to pile pressure on Bengaluru Bulls to script a narrow 24-22 win.
