In the chase of 166, Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 59, while Ajinkya Rahane scored 43. Finn Allen also scored a quick 29 for KKR. For SRH, Sakib Hussain, Pat Cummins, and Shivang Kumar took one wicket each. 

OUT!!! Shivang Kumar dismissed Angkrish Raghuvanshi for 59. Raghuvanshi tries to go for a big hit but fails the time shot, which lands into the hands of Eshan Malinga at the long-off. Third wicket gone for KKR.

This match is totally turning into a snoozefest as KKR batters are shying away from showing the attacking approach. Rinku Singh and Angkrish Raghuvanshi are relying on singles to take KKR home. KKR need 23 off 24 balls to win.

OUT!!!! Sakib Hussain finally breaks the partnership as he dismisses Ajinkya Rahane for 43. Rahane goes for a pull shot but the ball goes up in the air and Smaran Ravichandran takes a good catch at the square leg. Second wicket gone for KKR but they are near a good win.

FIFTY!!! Angkrish Raghuvanshi takes a single on Harshal Patel's delivery and brings up his half-century. He takes 39 balls to complete his fifty. KKR need 37 off 36 balls to win this match.

Angkrish Raghuvnashi is batting at 48 and inching towards his fifty. On the other hand, Ajinkya Rahane is also unbeaten at 37 and nearing the mark. This partnership has truly proven to be the most important for Kolkata Knight Riders as they near victory.

Finally, the snoozefest ends for Kolkata Knight Riders as Angkrish Raghuvanshi hits two boundaries. In the previous over of Eshan Malinga, Raghuvanshi gets boundaries as the pacer concedes nine runs. KKR now need 47 off 48 balls to win.

Eighth wicket gone for SRH.

OUT!!! Sunil Narine strikes again in the same over and gets the precious wicket of Ishan Kishan for 42. After getting for a maximum, Narine bounces back in style as he traps Ishan with his spin. The shot goes up in the air and lands perfectly into the hands of Anukul Roy at the long-off. SRH in deep trouble now.

OUT!!! Sunil Narine gets his first wicket of the day as he cleans up Salil Arora for two. Salil Arora expects the ball to spin in but it goes the other way slightly to beat the outside edge and crash into the off-stump. Sixth wicket gone for SRH and it is the 200th IPL dismissal for Narine.

OUT!!!! Varun Chakaravarthy strikes again and this time, he dismisses Aniket Verma for six. Aniket gets down to slog it downtown. The ball lobs up off the top-edge. Rahane moves back from cover and stays side-on and catches with hands outstretched. Third wicket for Chakaravarthy and fifth wicket for KKR.

After the quick fall of wickets, the onus has fallen on the shoulders of Ishan Kishan. He needs to continue with his knock and take SRH's innings as deep as he can. In the previous over of Cameron Green, Kishan and Aniket Verma scored six runs.

OUT!!! Varun Chakaravarthy gets another solid wicket as he dismissed Ravichandran Smaran for 4. Smaran mistimed a shot, which went up in the air and Ajinkya Rahane took an easy catch at the extra cover. Fourth wicket gone for SRH.

OUT!!! What did just happen? Heinrich Klaasen hammered it hard on Cameron Green's delivery in search of a six. However, Rovman Powell intervened and moved to his right and then leapt to pluck it out of thin air with his right hand. Such a blinder as KKR get another wicket. Klaasen gone for 11.

OUT!!! What a brilliant over, we got to see everything in this one. Varun Chakaravarthy got hit for two boundaries and a six but then bounced back in style and dismissed Travis Head for 61. Head picked the length and then swivelled across on the pull, but got undone by the pace and doesn't get hold of the shot. Cameron Green took a brilliant catch as SRH go two down.

FIFTY!!! Travis Head hits a massive six on Varun Chakaravarthy's delivery and brings up his half-century. It is his 10th half-century in the IPL and he brings it up in 22 balls. Interestingly, in the same over, Anukul Roy made a fielding blunder which gave a boundary to Head.

The first six overs of SRH's innings are now done and they have successfully capitalised on the powerplay. The main architect of SRH's batting is Travis Head, who is nearing a fiery half-century. Both Head and Ishan Kishan are forming a terrific partnership as KKR bowlers are looking for another wicket.

Travis Head is playing his usual fearless game and giving nightmares to KKR bowlers. This time, he took on Cameron Green and hammered three boundaries in his over. In total, Green leaked 14 runs as Head is now inching towards his fifty. So far, he has played just 16 balls and scored 41 runs.

OUT!!! A big relief for Kolkata Knight Riders as Kartik Tyagi removes Abhishek Sharma for 15. A short delivery from Kartik, Abhishek goes for a pull shot, which lands into the hands of Cameron Green at the mid-wicket. A big wicket gone for SRH.

The carnage continues in the third over and this time, Sunil Narine faces the heat. Travis Head hit a boundary and a maximum as the star spinner leaked 11 runs. Both Head and Abhishek Sharma are on fire as SRH are clearly dominating the game.

WOAH!!! Travis Head unleashes his fury on Vaibhav Arora. In the second over of the innings, Head goes berserk and hits four boundaries on Arora. In total, the pacer concedes 17 runs. SRH have got the early momentum which they were looking for.

Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head accept the spin challenge from KKR with opened arms. In the first over by Sunil Narine, the duo scored eight runs, which include a massive six from Abhishek. A good for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

The IPL 2026 match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders finally begin. For SRH, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have opened the proceedings. On the other hand, Sunil Narine will be bowling the first over for KKR. This is a bold move from captain Ajinkya Rahane to send a spinner to counter the threat of Abhishek and Head.

"We wanted to bat first as well. Those breaks so far, it really helped us as a team, re-coupling and thinking about the things which we did right and the improvement point of view. As I said in the last game as well, it's all about winning those moments, small, small moments in this format. Game can change here and there within an over. It's all about being present, being slightly proactive and also winning those moments. I thought hose breaks, so far, definitely helped. We've got two changes. Finn Allen is back in place of Seifert and then Manish Pandey is playing his first game of this season in place of Ramandeep Singh," said KKR skipper Ajinkya Rahane. 

"We'll bat first. Pitch looks good and it's very hot, we'll bat and post a total. I'm not good at reading the pitches, it looks nice and must be high scoring. I think the thing is the young guys have come in and been fantastic. A lot of the stalwarts as well have really hit their stride, I think we've got over 220 all but one game. So it just feels like everyone's, you know, found their rhythm, built themselves in the tournament, playing that style that we want, which is really positive and everyone's bought into that. (on their winning run) I think that's just the thing. It's very unlikely we're going to win every single game for the rest of the season, but we know this style works and we're five in a row at the moment. So even if there's a little glitch, just keep buying for that style. Nitish misses out. He's got a bit of illness, Smaran comes in for his first game and Harshal Patel replaces Harsh Dubey," said SRH skipper Pat Cummins. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins wins the toss, opts to bat against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2026 match on Sunday. 

"We've played nicely in the last couple of game. Our bowling has been very good in the last couple of games. Our batting - there's been some very good things. Rinku Singh coming to form has been brilliant to watch. We just need a couple of other guys to put their hands up today. Looks like a really nice pitch. Always a great place to bat here. Definitely have to turn it on today. Everyone's here to get the best out of themselves and continue to learn from every situation," said KKR assistant coach Shane Watson. 

"It's very hot. 63 and 67 square boundaries. 77 straight. I think this is a very good wicket for batting. Very very flat and very very dry. The sun is out. If I just go down and rub my hand on it - absolutely rock hard. I just think the new ball will nip on. Will be beautiful to bat at the top of the order. But being a day game with the sun baking the pitch, it may turn as the game goes on. I still expect a lot of runs but the spinners may play a bit bigger part in this game than they have in other matches," reckon Graeme Swann and Pommie Mbangwa.

KKR star Rinku Singh fought against his lean patch and played two match-winning knocks for his team in the last two games. He will be in focus today as well when KKR will be up against the likes of Pat Cummins, Eshan Malinga, Praful Hinge and others. 

Finn Allen and Tim Seifert have also failed to live up to the expectations, while the likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Cameron Green and Rovman Powell are yet to fire. KKR badly need their top-order to perform against SRH. 

There's still a lot of suspense on the entry of Matheesha Pathirana in KKR's Playing XI. The Sri Lankan has joined the KKR camp after getting a NOC from his country's board but is yet to play his first game of the season. Seeing KKR's condition, it is highly likely that Pathirana will play today. 

KKR's bold decision to continue with Ajinkya Rahane as the captain after a woeful IPL 2025 campaign has been the talk of the town as the right-hander has so far failed to inspire his side. Rahane has shown a transformative approach with flashes of positive intent -- a 67 off 40 against Mumbai Indians and a brisk 41 off 24 against LSG but his leadership and decisions on the field have been questionable.

SRH boast of a strong batting line-up in the form of tournament's second and third highest run-scorer in Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen. In Ishan Kishan, SRH has an explosive batter who can change the complexion of the match in any given day and he has proved that this season. Australian opener Travis Head also got back among runs with 76 against Mumbai Indians in SRH's last match. 

Kolkata Knight Riders have been are struggling all season under Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy but have won the their last two games. They are placed eighth in the 10-team tournament. They are desperately looking for another win to keep their campaign on track. 

A power-packed batting unit at their disposal, Sunrisers Hyderabad will look to continue their winning streak and climb up the ladder when they take on a resurgent Kolkata Knight Riders. SRH are on a five-match winning streak and are placed third in the IPL standings with 12 points from nine matches, that includes six wins and three defeats.
