In response, Mumbai Indians were restricted to 222 for 5, with RCB spinner Suyash Sharma (2/47) putting the skids on the home side with a double strike in the eighth over, from which they could not recover. Sherfane Rutherford top-scored for MI with an unbeaten 71 off 31 balls. While opener Rohit Sharma appeared to be struggling with a hamstring issue and had to retire hurt on 19, his partner Ryan Rickelton made 37, while Suryakumar Yadav (33) and Hardik Pandya (40) were the other contributors for MI. Here are the Highlights of Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru IPL 2026 match -

MI vs RCB Live: RCB beat MI by 18 runs!

RCB beat MI by 18 runs! Sherfane Rutherford smashed Romario Shepherd for four sixes in the final over to narrow down the defeat margin for Mumbai Indians. Royal Challengers Bengaluru still clinch an 18-run victory. They are back on the winning track. MI, on the other hand, suffer their third consecutive defeat.

MI vs RCB Live: Rasikh doesn't get to bowl!

After the 19th over, Rasikh Salam Dar was initially set to bowl the final one, but he had to leave the ball. Romario Shepherd was eventually brought into the attack instead. It appears the decision was taken by the fourth umpire, as Rasikh had been off the field for a considerable period of time.

MI 196-5 (19)

MI vs RCB Live: Extremely long over!

Wd, 0, 6, 0, 6, Wd, 0, Wd, 6 - This was such a long over from Jacob Duffy! 21 runs came off it as Sherfane Rutherford smashed three sixes in it. The over also saw two reviews being taken; one from each side. All that collectively delayed things.

MI 188-5 (18)

MI vs RCB Live: Nine off the over!

Bhuvneshwar Kumar conceded nine runs in his third over. The asking rate is over 24 for Mumbai Indians. Mere formality remains in this game. RCB are only 18 balls away from registering a big win here.

MI 166-5 (17)

MI vs RCB Live: Drama! Drama! Drama!

An injured Rasikh Dar was forced to leave the field, and Romario Shepherd was thrown the ball. He struck almost immediately, inducing a leading edge from Sherfane Rutherford and then sprinting backwards to complete a sharp catch at mid-wicket. The RCB celebrations were short-lived, though, as the TV umpire intervened and signalled a no-ball -- Shepherd had overstepped.

MI vs RCB Live: WICKET!

OUT! Rasikh Salam Dar gets Naman Dhir! It was a short of length ball from the right-arm pacer and Dhir slashed it to the player at extra cover. Mumbai Indians are five down. They need 87 runs in 27 balls.

MI 154-5 (15.3)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX from Sherfane Rutherford!

A slower short ball from Rasikh Salam Dar and Sherfane Rutherford has pulled it away powerfully for a six. Rashid is down on the ground. It's his left leg that is the concern for him. The physio runs in to check the bowler. We have a short stoppage in the game.

MI 153-4 (15.1)

MI vs RCB Live: Hardik Pandya departs!

OUT! Jacob Duffy removes Hardik Pandya! It was a fuller ball outside off-stump and Hardik Pandya threw the kitchen sink to it and got an outside edge. The MI skipper found Romario Shepherd at deep backward point.

MI 145-4 (14.4)

14 came off the final over of Suyash Sharma. He finishes with figures of 2 for 47. Mumbai Indians need 103 runs in 36 balls. The asking rate has risen to 17.17. This match is slipping out of their hands, or perhaps it already has!

MI 138-3 (14)

MI vs RCB Live: Brilliant spell from Krunal!

Only five runs came off the over. Krunal Pandya finishes his quota of four with figures of 1 for 26. This is a brilliant spell from the left-arm spinner. Mumbai Indians need 117 runs in 42 balls.

MI 124-3 (13)

MI vs RCB Live: Suryakumar Yadav is GONE!

OUT! Krunal Pandya gets the much-deserved wicket! He has trapped Suryakumar Yadav at fine leg. SKY played a slog-sweep but found the fielder on the edge of the boundary. Mumbai Indians are three down in the chase.

MI 121-3 (12.2)

MI vs RCB Live: Mumbai Indians need 122 in 48!

11 came off the third over of Suyash Sharma. Hardik Pandya started the over with a four and Suryakumar Yadav finished it with a boundary. Mumbai Indians continue to fight in the chase. They need 122 runs in 48 balls. The asking rate has crossed 15 now.

MI 119-2 (12)

MI vs RCB Live: 100 up for Mumbai Indians!

Nine came off the over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Mumbai Indians need 133 runs in 54 balls. The asking rate continues to rise. It's 14.78 now. Either we are going to see a big over next or a wicket.

MI 108-2 (11)

MI vs RCB Live: 14 off the over!

This turned out to be an expensive over from Suyash Sharma. Suryakumar Yadav slammed him for two fours while Hardik Pandya also played a powerful cut shot for a boundary. 14 runs came off the over. Mumbai Indians need 142 runs in 60 balls.

MI 99-2 (10)

MI vs RCB Live: RCB lose a review!

Suryakumar Yadav missed his sweep shot on the fourth ball of Krunal Pandya's third over. The ball hit SKY on the front foot and RCB appealed for an LBW. Rajat Patidar was somehow convinced to take it upstairs only to find out that the ball would have missed the leg stump.

MI 85-2 (9)

MI vs RCB Live: Tilak Varma is OUT!

Mumbai Indians are two down! Poor shot from Tilak Varma! It was there to be hit, but he swept and found the short fine leg. This is the second wicket for Suyash Sharma in his very first over! RCB are right on top as the asking rate creeps to 13.73 for Mumbai Indians.

MI 74-2 (7.5)

MI vs RCB Live: WICKET!

OUT! Suyash Sharma strikes! Here is the first wicket for RCB as Suyash gets the danger-man Ryan Rickelton. It was tossed up, wrong'un delivery and the southpaw got a top edge as he tried to slog-sweep it. Huge relief for RCB!

Ryan Rickelton c Bhuvneshwar Kumar b Suyash Sharma 37(22)

MI 72-1 (7.1)

MI vs RCB Live: FOUR!

Another over of Krunal Pandya that was going good but got spoiled with a last-ball boundary. The spinner bowled it around the pads and Suryakumar Yadav swept it to the left of short fine leg for a four. 10 came off the over.

MI 72-0 (7)

MI vs RCB Live: Rohit Sharma is retired hurt!

This is a huge moment in the game! Rohit Sharma, who had been batting really well, is walking out of the ground after struggling with his hamstring. Suryakumar Yadav comes in to bat as Rohit is retired hurt. The MI opener scored 19 off 13 balls.

MI 57-0 (5.2)

MI vs RCB Live: FOUR!

Spin was introuduced into the attack and Krunal Pandya nearly bowled a good over before Rohit Sharma ruined it with a classy four on the off-side. It was a fuller delivery outside off from Krunal and Rohit drove it in the air, piercing through the gap between point and cover fielders. Eight came off the over.

MI 56-0 (5)

MI vs RCB Live: Big feats for Rohit Sharma!

Rohit Sharma has become the first batter to score 6000 runs for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. He has also joined Virat Kohli as just the second batter to score 6000 or more runs for a franchise in IPL.

MI 48-0 (4)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX! 1st boundary for Rohit!

On the fifth ball of the over, Rohit Sharma jumped out of his crease and clobbered that into the stands over deep mid-wicket for a SIX! That was the first boundary for the Mumbai Indians opener. 18 runs came off Jacob Duffy's second over.

MI 39-0 (3)

MI vs RCB Live: Another SIX from Rickelton!

SIX from Ryan Rickelton again! This is an excellent piece of batting from the southpaw. Anything short or on the pads, and Rickelton has been sending it into the stands. He smashed his third six, over deep mid-wicket this time.

MI 31-0 (2.3)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX! Beautiful shot!

SIX! This is some shot from Ryan Rickelton! Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled it on the pads of the southpaw and he flicked it away for a maximum over the backward square leg. The MI opener is looking in great touch tonight.

MI 20-0 (1.5)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX, FOUR from Ryan Rickelton!

A good length ball from Jacob Duffy on the off-side, and that has been punched away by Ryan Rickelton for a four through covers. A total of 10 runs come off the over as the southpaw had also slammed Duffy for a biggie over deep mid-wicket on the third ball.

MI 10-0 (1)

MI vs RCB Live: The chase begins!

Jacob Duffy begins with a fuller ball to Ryan Rickelton. The MI southpaw drives it to the fielder at mid-on. Rohit Sharma is the batter at the other end. Mumbai Indians' chase of 241 is underway.

MI 0-0 (0.1)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX! RCB finish on a high!

A lower full toss from Trent Boult, and that has been clobbered away into the stands by Tim David for a six. Royal Challengers Bengaluru have posted a massive total of 240 on the board. Boult would still be happy with the fact that he got away with a 10-run over despite David and Romario Shepherd being in the middle.

RCB 240-4 (20)

MI vs RCB Live: OUT!

19.2 – Trent Boult strikes! It was a yorker delivery, and that found Jitesh Sharma plumb in front of the stumps. The RCB batter moved across and missed the ball completely. It hit him on the front foot, and the umpire raised his finger.

Jitesh Sharma lbw b Trent Boult 10(9)

MI vs RCB Live: 13 off Bumrah's over!

Jasprit Bumrah was smashed for a four and a six by Tim David in his final over. He leaked 13 runs in it. The ace pacer's wicketless run in IPL 2026 continues. He finishes with figures of 0 for 35 in four overs.

RCB 230-3 (19)

MI vs RCB Live: Poor bowling from Hardik!

Hardik Pandya leaked 16 runs in his final over. He even bowled a chest-height no-ball to Tim David and also burned one review by sending the umpire's decision upstairs. RCB still have 12 balls left. Can they post 250?

RCB 217-3 (18)

MI vs RCB Live: Good bowling!

Smart captaincy from Hardik Pandya as he brought ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah into the attack against two new batters at the crease. The fast bowler was right on the money and conceded only seven runs.

RCB 201-3 (17)

MI vs RCB Live: WICKET! Padikkal departs!

OUT! Mitchell Santner has provided a big wicket for Mumbai Indians on the final ball of his spell. It was a yorker delivery, and Rajat Patidar dug it out to the fielder at long-on. He departs after scoring 53 off 20 balls.

RCB 194-3 (16)

MI vs RCB Live: Virat Kohli is OUT!

OUT! Hardik Pandya gets the wicket of Virat Kohli! It was a lower full toss bowled at 135 kmph from the Mumbai Indians captain. Kohli got it from the bottom of his bat and found the fielder at long-on.

Virat Kohli c Suryakumar Yadav b Hardik Pandya 50(38)

RCB 185-2 (14.4)

MI vs RCB Live: VIRAT KOHLI SLAMS FIFTY!

A single from Virat Kohli on the leg side. With it, he completes his half-century in 37 balls. The RCB opener would feel that he has been a bit slow to reach the mark. He is not getting it from the middle of his bat tonight. Timing the ball has been a bit difficult for him.

RCB 184-1 (14.2)

MI vs RCB Live: Poor from Virat Kohli!

Virat Kohli has burned both of RCB's reviews while going against the umpire's decision, that too for not getting wides on two occasions. Both were tight calls, and Kohli could have easily avoided wasting the DRS. This is not what you expect from someone who has been a captain for 10 seasons in the IPL and also led India at the highest level for years.

RCB 183-1 (14.1)

MI vs RCB Live: Big record for Virat Kohli!

Earlier in this innings, Virat Kohli stitched a 120-run stand with Phil Salt for the opening wicket. That saw Kohli script the record of being involved in the most century stands in T20 cricket. The Indian batter holds the top spot with a tally of 47, while Chris Gayle and Babar Azam, who jointly held the record earlier with 46 each, slip to second position.

RCB 167-1 (13)

MI vs RCB Live: 6, 6, 6 - Fantastic from Rajat Patidar!

The six hitting spree from RCB continues!!! Rajat Patidar smacked Mayank Markande for three consecutive sixes in the over. He hit two mighty ones on the leg side before taking out a revese sweep and smashing the third maximum.

RCB 144-1 (12)

MI vs RCB Live: GONE! Salt is OUT!

OUT! There is the first breakthrough for Mumbai Indians! Shardul Thakur has dismissed Phil Salt. This is a bit of a similar strategy to how he removed Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the last game against Rajasthan Royals. It was a yorker-length delivery outside off-stump and Salt found Hardik Pandya at extra cover.

Phil Salt c Hardik Pandya b Shardul Thakur 78(36)

RCB 120-1 (10.5)

MI vs RCB Live: 10 overs gone!

Royal Challengers Bengaluru find themselves right in control of this game. Philip Salt (78 off 35) is getting closer to his century, while Virat Kohli (35 off 25) is holding the other end tight. Mumbai Indians continue to search for the first breakthrough.

RCB 115-0 (10)

MI vs RCB Live: That was close!!!

Mitchell Santner tossed it up and Virat Kohli played a slog-sweep on it. The deep mid-wicket fielder ran to his left and put a jump but failed to take the catch. The ball ran to the fence for a four. 10 came off the over.

RCB 105-0 (9)

MI vs RCB Live: RCB right on top!

Mayank Markande has been hit for 20 runs in this over! Nothing seems to be working for Mumbai Indians at the moment. Phil Salt has smashed their bowlers all-around the park. He is batting on 68 off 29 balls with the help of six fours and five sixes.

RCB 95-0 (8)

MI vs RCB Live: FIFTY FOR PHIL SALT!

A four on the leg side from Phil Salt. Mayank Markande pitched it short and the batter clobbered it into the gap through mid-wicket. He races to his half-century with it. The RCB opener gets there in only 25 balls. This has been a brutal knock so far.

RCB 79-0 (7.1)

MI vs RCB Live: Brilliant bowling!

Only six runs came off the second over of Jasprit Bumrah. He mixed his pace really well and kept both Virat Kohli and Phil Salt in check. No boundary came in the over. Still, RCB finish the Powerplay on a high!

RCB 71-0 (6)

MI vs RCB Live: 6, 6, 6 - Hat-trick from Phil Salt!

Phil Salt is on fire!!! He smashed Mitchell Santner for three consecutive sixes in the fifth over. All three were massive sixes from the RCB opener. He followed the maximums with a four, getting a total of 22 in the over.

RCB 65-0 (5)

MI vs RCB Live: Bumrah starts with 10-run over!

Jasprit Bumrah was brought into the attack and he conceded 10 runs in his first over. Virat Kohli got a top edge on the second ball but that flew over the short third and ran away to the fence for a four.

RCB 43-0 (4)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX! Superb a pull shot!

2.4 – A good length delivery from Trent Boult and Phil Salt has pulled it away beautifully over the deep mid-wicket for a SIX. That is some comeback from the RCB opener after being hit by the ball.

MI vs RCB Live: Physio checks Salt!

2.3 – Phil Salt tried to smack a Trent Boult delivery on the leg side but he missed it. The ball hit him in the box and the physio is currently checking him. We have a short stoppage in the game.

MI vs RCB Live: Nine off the over!

Hardik Pandya starts with a nine-run over. Phil Salt smashed the MI pacer for a four through covers on the third ball. There is some early swing for the Mumbai Indians pacers, but they have failed to take advantage of it so far.

RCB 22-0 (2)

MI vs RCB Live: Expensive over!

Phil Salt later smashed a four in the over of Trent Boult through covers. The left-arm pacer conceded 13 runs in his first over, without troubling the RCB openers much.

RCB 13-0 (1)

MI vs RCB Live: SIX from Virat Kohli!

0.3 - Wow! That is a magnificent flick shot from Virat Kohli for a SIX! Trent Boult bowled a fuller delivery onto the pads of the RCB opener, who nonchalantly flicked it away over the backward square leg. That went flat and covered a distance of 63 metres.

MI vs RCB Live: Game begins!

Trent Boult starts with an inswinging delivery to Phil Salt. The RCB opener drove it to the mid-on to take a single. Virat Kohli now gets on the strike.

MI vs RCB Live: One change for RCB!

"Obviously would have bowled first. But as you all know, it's a good batting track. The ball comes nicely onto the bat with good bounce. So honestly, it won't make too much difference. We enjoy it a lot here. Whenever we come, we see great crowds. It's challenging, but at the same time, fun and exciting. Just one change, Jacob Duffy comes in place of Josh Hazlewood," said RCB captain Rajat Patidar.

MI vs RCB Live: Two changes for Mumbai Indians!

"We're going to bowl first. Looks like a good track. We played the first game on the other pitch, this looks similar. It's always good to bat second here. I think it's a big game. Over the years at Wankhede, chasing has worked for a lot of teams. Being our home ground, dew comes in later as well. Mayank Markande and Mitchell Santner come in for Deepak Chahar and Allah Ghazanfar," said Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya.

MI vs RCB Live: MI win toss, opt to bowl!

Here is the toss result! Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya has won the toss and opted to bowl first against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in their IPL 2026 game tonight.

MI vs RCB Live: How are the forms of Virat and Rohit?

Virat Kohli has scored 129 runs in three matches at an average of 64.50 and a strike rate of 179.17. He has smashed one fifty.

Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, has scored 118 runs in three matches at an average of 39.33 and a strike rate of 168.57. He too has hit one half-century.

MI vs RCB Live: Bumrah's poor form!

Jasprit Bumrah has failed to claim a wicket in IPL 2026 despite bowling a total of 11 overs in the three matches so far. The opposition batters have usually tried not to attack the ace pacer, and that is also one of the reasons behind his wicketless run. His economy rate has been eight.

MI vs RCB Live: Tim David returns to Wankhede!

Tim David returns to the Wankhede, but this time in RCB colors to face his former side, MI. Since joining Bengaluru in 2025, he has established himself as the IPL's most lethal finisher; among those with at least 40 balls faced, David boasts a staggering death-overs strike rate of 236.58, the highest in the league.

MI vs RCB Live: Big boost for MI!

Mitchell Santner is likely to back for MI after missing the game against DC due to an injury. He trained with MI both on Friday and Saturday and is likely to slot back in for Allah Ghazanfar.

MI vs RCB Live: H2H Stats!

MI have historically dominated this fixture and lead 21-14 in head-to-head record against RCB, but the last five games have been pretty competitive, with the defending champions winning three of them.

MI vs RCB Live: Kohli eyes big milestone!

Virat Kohli needs 78 runs to complete 1,000 runs against Mumbai Indians in the IPL. If he reaches this milestone, Kohli will become the first player to score 1,000 or more runs against five different teams in the tournament's history. Currently, no other player has achieved this feat against more than two teams.

MI vs RCB Live: Mumbai Indians' performance so far -

Mumbai Indians broke a 14-year jinx of not winning an IPL opener as they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by six wickets at the start of their campaign. However, the side, especially its batters, struggled against Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals. MI lost to DC by six wickets and suffered a 27-run defeat against RR.
