Pakistan beat New Zealand by 13 runs
It was a comprehensive victory for Mohammad Hafeez and Co. in their first match of World T20, 2012.

Tim Southee managed to put the brakes on scoring momentarily as he caught Imran Nazir off his own bowling.
Jamshed Nasir took the attack to the Kiwi bowlers as he clobbered four huge sixes. He scored a quickfire 56 off 35 balls.
A lot depended on Brendon McCullum, especially after the departure of the New Zealand openers. But Umar Gul sent him back after a 31-ball 32.
Ross Taylor looked to turn things for New Zealand as sent Umar Gul to the boundary in three consecutive deliveries in the 19th over. Hope was still there for the Kiwis.
There was no other way but to run for everything. But Ross Taylor fell short of his mark and that was pretty much the end of New Zealand's chase.
Saeed Ajmal is having a time of his life, and against the Kiwis he picked returned with 4/30. He was adjudged Man of the Match.
