New Zealand Women just didn't arrive with the bat. After losing Brits in the first over, they never got themselves up. The Kiwis kept on losing wickets. Hopes were tangled with Sophie Devine in the middle but she was struggling badly and once she got out it was just a procession. Nothing to blame on the bowling side but New Zealand Women have to do much better than this with the bat.

A no-contest really! New Zealand were outsmarted by the hosts who kick off the tournament finally. South Africa Women really turned up when it mattered the most. First, after choosing to bat, kept on losing wickets but the stand between Chloe Tryon and Nadine de Klerk turned out to be a match winning one as both scored some crucial runs. Above 130 is always going to be a tough one but with some brilliant bowling, South Africa builded the pressure with some amazing fielding as well.
