Tommy Haas' resurgence at age 35 reached a new peak on Monday, when he became the oldest French Open men's quarterfinalist since 1971 by beating Mikhail Youzhny 6-1, 6-1, 6-3.
Limelight though was also grabbed by Youzhny when, in what appeared a sign of sheer frustration and dispair, smashed his racquet nine times, seding all for cover.

He later said that he did not fear a 'backlash' from his racquet sponsors. "I have been with Head for 20 years. You want me to go to another company and break their racquets?," he said.
