CAREER:
1995: Started racing karts.
2006: Entered Formula One in August becoming the reserve driver for BMW Sauber at the Turkish Grand Prix.
2007: Made his F1 debut for BMW Sauber at the US Grand Prix. Released in July to join Toro Rosso, becoming race driver from the Hungarian Grand Prix onwards.
2008: Became the youngest driver in history to win a Formula One Grand Prix at the Italian Grand Prix at 21 years and 74 days.
2009: Replaced David Coulthard at Red Bull Racing. Won four races (China, British, Japan, Abu Dhabi) to finish runner-up to Brawn GP's Jenson Button.
2010: Won five races (Malaysia, Europe, Japan, Brazil, Abu Dhabi) and became the youngest world champion in F1 history.
2011: Defended his world title with four races to spare.
