Force India passes Day 2 of Barcelona Test

Force India driver Nico Hulkenberg completed 112 laps on the second day of testing in Barcelona as the VJM05 looked all geared up for the upcoming 2012 season.

The team completed a mileage of 521 km and the fastest lap time stood at 1:22.608

Hulkenberg experimented with the car to get his hands set on the new car. "We started the day with some aero work - trying some constant speed runs and collecting more data. Then, the rest of the day was spent working on the balance of the car and trying out all four tyre compounds."

He stated that the car was in good shape for the upcoming challenges. "I did some short runs, long runs and just got a feel for the tyre characteristics and how the car reacts to them. Once again the car has been very drivable all day and our baseline set-up has proved to be a good starting point for running all the different compounds", said the German.

Chief Engineer Jakob Andreasen also expressed his satisfaction with the car's performance. "We got through all the items on the job list and once again the car has run faultlessly, which is a credit to the design team at Silverstone", he said.

The Formula 1 2012 season starts with the Australian Grand Prix scheduled for March 18, 2012.
