Force India aim to get back among points at Spanish GP

Having failed to capitalise on the impressive start to the 2011 season, Force India are aiming to get back amongst the points during Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix.

Force India started the season on a promising note with four points from races in Australia and Malaysia but failed to add any more points in China and Turkey.

"The aim for the weekend is to hopefully get back in the points. We've been pretty close to the top-10 in all the races so far this season, so hopefully we can stay in the hunt," said Force India driver Paul di Resta.

Expressing confidence of doing well at the Circuit de Catalunya, Di Resta said, "I am really looking forward to this weekend because I probably know Barcelona better than any other track on the calendar. We did two tests there in the winter and I had four days in the car so I already feel quite well prepared."

He, however, admitted that most of the drivers like him know the Barcelona track well.

"In fact, it's a track that all the drivers know like the back of their hand and the teams have so much data already. It is usually a race where all the teams bring upgrades so we will need to take a step forward if we want to stay in the mix. We evaluated a new front wing in Istanbul and we hope to have more steps coming through in the near future."

The 25-year-old Di Resta, who overshadowed his highly-rated teammate Adrian Sutil, helped his team earn points at the opening Grand Prix in Australia and the next one in Malaysia.

He, however, failed to finish among points in the following two races in Shanghai and Istanbhul. Sutil, meanwhile, said the race might turn out to be different from the previous races held here.

"Yes, I think we should see some overtaking. There is a long straight and tyre degradation will be high. I'm sure the race will be a bit different to what we have seen in previous years," said Sutil.

Force India chairman and team principal Dr Vijay Mallya said he was excited to see how things unfold.

"The Spanish Grand Prix is always a significant moment in the season. It marks the return to Europe and it's the moment when the Formula One development race really begins. At Force India, we have some upgrades to bring to the car in the coming races and I'm excited to see how things will unfold," he said.
