Liverpool strengthened their position on top of the Premier League points table after they defeated defending champions Manchester City 3-1. After this win, Liverpool are eight points clear of second-placed Leicester City. Below them on the third spot are Frank Lampard's Chelsea who also have 26 points, while Manchester City are currently sitting fourth. The surprise entry in the top six is the newly-promoted side Sheffield United who are placed fifth with 17 points, above Unai Emery's Arsenal who are on the sixth place with the same number of points. Manchester United are on the seventh place while Tottenham Hotspur are 14th in the table.
