Pailan Arrows muffed chances galore to settle for a 1-1 draw against a 10-man United Kerala in a round seven I-League fixture at Yuba Bharati Krirangan on Thursday.
The visitors took the lead with a goal from Saba Saleel in the 30th minute but soon they were reduced to 10 players after their defender Charles Dzisa was given the marching orders.
The home team brought in the equaliser in the 53rd minute but the All India Football Federation developmental side could not take advantage.
The Kerala outfit now has four points, while Arrows moved to three points. Saleel finished off a combined move when he tapped in from close in the 30th minute.
But their joy was short-lived as their Ghanian defender Dzisa was sent off for a rough tackle on India Under-19 captain Malswamfela in a space of two minutes.
The send-off allowed the Arrows to come back strongly. Changing over, Sabeeth headed in an Abhinava Bagh free-kick.
But thereafter, despite it being one-way traffic, the Arrows failed to put the ball into the rival net with at least four one-to-one chances going abegging.
