Sergio Busquets extends Barcelona deal until 2018

Busquets broke into the first team five years ago during Pep Guardiola's first season in charge and has since gone on to make 238 appearance for the Catalans.

Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets has extended his contract with the club until June 2018 with the option for a further year, the Spanish champions confirmed on Tuesday.

Busquets broke into the first team five years ago during Pep Guardiola's first season in charge and has since gone on to make 238 appearance for the Catalans.

In that time has helped guide Barca to four league titles, two Champions Leagues and two Copa del Rey successes.

The 25-year-old is also now a firmly established member of the Spanish national side with 59 caps and was part of the side that won the 2010 World Cup and the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine last year.
