Sao Paulo:
Striker Diego Tardelli netted a goal in each half on Wednesday to help Brazil's Sao Paulo beat Quilmes of Argentina 3-1 and reach first place in Group 3 of the Copa Libertadores.
The match was marred however by arrest of Quilmes defender Leandro Desabato, who was escorted off the field by police and later arrested after allegedly insulting Sao Paulo players with racist taunts during the match.
Sao Paulo leads the group with eight points, three more than Universidad de Chile, which held The Strongest of Bolivia to a scoreless draw earlier on Wednesday in La Paz.
Quilmes remains on four points, while The Strongest is last with two. All teams have played four matches each. (AP)
