River Plate beat arch-rivals Boca Juniors 1-0 in the "Superderby".

River Plate beat arch-rivals Boca Juniors 1-0 in the "Superderby" to move above their rivals and into first place in the Argentine Clausura Championship standings. Fernando Cavenaghi's ninth goal of the season was enough to seal the win for River. Boca finished this passionate encounter with only nine players - Jose Calvo and Carlos Tevez were both given their marching orders - while River were reduced to 10 men following Eduardo Tuzzio's sending off.
