Manchester:
UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Manchester United and Liverpool following incidents at their Europa League clash on Thursday night.
Both clubs were charged on Friday by UEFA with crowd disturbances and throwing objects following scuffles between both sets of fans late in the match, which Liverpool won 3-1 on aggregate after a 1-1 draw.
The incidents occurred, reportedly, after some visiting Liverpool fans managed to get into a section containing home supporters.
Liverpool have also been charged with illicit chanting and setting off fireworks. United's other charge is for having blocked stairways.
