Kolkata:
Baichung Bhutia is on his way out of India. The player of the tournament from the ASEAN Cup has been snapped up by Malaysian side FC Perak. Bhutia is apparently being released by East Bengal on a two-month loan. His new assignment begins next month. Meanwhile, East Bengal fans continue to celebrate the team's famous win in the ASEAN Cup. The team returns tomorrow but they have to immediately get down to work again. With East Bengal due to play a Federation Cup match on Thursday, club officials have decided against any elaborate celebrations. "We have to concentrate on the Fed Cup. We have performed well at the Asian level, now we have to once again do well within the country," said Swapan Bal, Executive Committee Member, East Bengal. With or without the celebrations, the ASEAN Cup win is the beginning of new challenges for East Bengal.Topics mentioned in this article
