Lyon beats Valenciennes in French league
Lyon beat Valenciennes 2-0 on Saturday with goals from Juninho and Sidney Govou to keep its four-point lead at the top of the French first division.

Juninho headed the first goal in the 40th minute after Karim Benzema charged down the left flank to cross the ball inside the box.
France international Govou sealed the win in the 87th, chipping the ball over Valenciennes goalkeeper Nicolas Penneteau.
It was Lyon's ninth victory in the last 10 games and it tops the standings with 31 points from 13 games. Nancy, which beat Bordeaux 1-0, is second with 27 points from 12 games.
Monaco upset third-place Rennes 1-0 to snap a six-game winless streak.
Also on Saturday, it was: Strasbourg 1, Paris Saint-Germain 2; Marseille 0, Lorient 0; Nice 0, Sochaux 0; and Auxerre 0, Lille 1.
On Sunday, Caen hosts Le Mans, Metz visits Toulouse, and Lens takes on Saint-Etienne.
Chris Malonga led Nancy over Bordeaux to help his side keep pace with defending champion Lyon. Malonga got the final touch to an off-target volley from Youssouf Hadji in the 29th.
Frederic Piquionne headed home a corner kick in the 47th for Monaco.
Paris Saint-Germain beat Strasbourg to move further away from the relegation zone.
PSG took the lead with an own-goal from Rodrigo in the 6th as a cross from PSG fullback Ceara bounced off the Strasbourg midfielder.
Loris Arnaud made it 2-0 in the 19th, slipping the ball past goalkeeper Stephane Cassard.
Wason Renteria pulled one back for Strasbourg in the 49th. The Colombia international collected a pass from Pascal Johansen before shooting into the top corner for his fifth goal this season.
Sochaux held Nice to a goalless draw.
Nice midfielder Drissa Diakite was red-carded in the 76th for a harsh tackle on Mickael Isabey.
Sochaux's best chance came in the 35th with a powerful header from Turkish forward Mevlut Erding, but goalkeeper Lionel Letizi made the save.
Mid-table Lille edged Auxerre 1-0.
