Turin:

Juventus is within one point of the Serie B lead and doesn't plan to transfer any players in January."With the determination put out on the field so far we have a great chance to reach our goal of promotion with the current structure," Juventus president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli told ANSA on Thursday.Juventus is unbeaten in Italy's second division with 10 wins and three draws and is just behind Napoli. It was demoted to the Serie B and docked nine points due to the Italian match-fixing scandal."By January, we will have gotten back all our injured players and we have many young players that we hope will continue to give us great satisfaction," said Cobolli Gigli. There "will not be any arrivals or departures" in January, he added.Goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon's contract with Juventus doesn't expire until 2010, but speculation had mounted that he might leave.Juventus took out a full-page advertisement in each of Italy's three all-sports newspapers Wednesday to express its appreciation for Buffon.Cobolli Gigli said it was "logical" that the club would meet with Buffon to extend his contract.Striker David Trezeguet and midfielder Mauro Camoranesi had also been mentioned as players that could leave Turin.Coach Didier Deschamps left open some room for movement."There will not be any new arrivals. Although if someone hasn't found space, they could go finish the season on loan," Deschamps said on Juventus' Web site. (AP)
