Juventus beat Real Madrid

Juventus FC beat Real Madrid CF 2-0 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate.

Marcelo Zalayeta's goal four minutes from the end of extra time enabled Juventus FC to defeat Real Madrid CF 2-0 on the night and 2-1 on aggregate and ensured there will be no Spanish involvement in the draw for the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League. The match was decided in extra time after Ronaldo and Alessio Tacchinardi were shown direct red cards for an off-the-ball exchange. In other matches Arsenal were also dumped out 2-3 on aggregate by Bayern Munich. Liverpool though went through 6-2 on aggregate against Bayer Leverkusen and PSV beat Monaco 3-0 over two legs to advance to the quarterfinals.
