Barcelona:

African Player of the Year Samuel Eto'o completed a US$ 29.41 million move to Barcelona on Thursday after Real Madrid decided not to exercise their option on the Real Mallorca striker. The 23-year-old Cameroon international signed a four-year deal with his new club and will wear the number nine shirt previously worn by Patrick Kluivert. This time, Samuel Eto'o is the man in question - a man not afraid to make an awkward racial reference. "I can't promise the fans that I'll score fifty goals, but I can promise that I'll run like a nigger to be able to live like a white man," said Eto'o. He leaves Real Madrid for Barcelona a slightly bitter man. Real had the chance to sign him permanently from Real Mallorca. They chose not to. "I had the hope of playing for a great club, the rest doesn't matter, I think that even if they paid me a thousand million, I wouldn't go to Real Madrid because I wouldn't be happy," he said. The Cameroon international striker joins a resurgent Barcelona with the chance of forging what could be an electrifying partnership with the prolific Swede, Henrik Larsson - a recent addition from Glasgow Celtic.
