DR Congo took the shock lead in the seventh minute, as winger Brian Cipenga scored with a brilliant finish in the box. DR Congo goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi Nzau then made four heroic saves, denying the likes of Kane and Jude Bellingham. England were also denied a penalty in the first half, while DR Congo striker Yoanne Wissa hit the post. In the second half, Kane equalized for England, scoring a header from an Anthony Gordon cross in the 75th minute. The duo linked up again in the 86th minute; this time Kane smashed a terrific finish into the top corner.
