The Mumbai outfit went ahead in the very first minute of the contest surprising both the defenders and Felix Edward, the Bank goal keeper. R P Singh made a long cross from the left flank towards the box where the defenders were simply looking at Singh and the ball and opportunist Damasio stopped the bouncing ball and lobbed it towards the goal. After conceding the first goal, the bankmen stepped up the pace of the game with a series of attacks but failed to provide the finishing touch. On two occasions, the Bankmen came very close to scoring but Harish and Mohammad frittered the chance.
