Brazil defender Roberto Carlos will sponsor a fundraising match after Christmas in Brazil to help local charity groups.
Roberto Carlos summoned Real Madrid teammates Ronaldo, Robinho and several other Brazilian players to team up with local celebrities in a friendly on December 26 at Pacaembu stadium in Sao Paulo, the defender said on his website.
Fans will be able to watch the match by bringing 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) of food, and all the proceeds will be donated to several charity groups in Brazil.
Julio Baptista, Vampeta, Vagner Love, Cicinho and Denilson are some of the players who have already confirmed their presence, a statement on the website said. (AP)
