Bayern Munich cruised to a 4-0 win over Paderborn while Schalke reaped their first win of the season beating Werder Bremen, in the opener of the fifth round of the German Bundesliga.
Newly promoted club Paderborn were unable to cause an upset Tuesday night as Bayern Munich's Mario Gotze scored a brace for an easy 4-0 win for the German giants on home soil, reports Xinhua.
With the win, Bayern took the lead in the Bundesliga standings.
Schalke secured their first win of the season as three second half goals were enough to snatch three-points at Bremen.
Elsewhere, Mainz gave away a two-goal lead to share the spoils with Frankfurt at the "Rhine-Main derby".
Jonas Hoffmann and Shinji Okazaki established Mainz's 2-0 lead before Frankfurt's Alexander Meier and Haris Seferovic restored parity to force a share of the spoils.
Hoffenheim came back twice against 10 men Freiburg to rescue a point following a 3-3 draw at the Southern derby. Hoffenheim's Jannik Vestergaard ensured the draw in the dying minutes of the game.
