Mumbai:

A freak goal barely seconds before the final whistle today gave an otherwise outplayed Mohan Bagan the much-needed equaliser against Mahindra United in the National Football League (NFL) in Mumbai, with the match ending in a 1-1 draw. Bagan's much-touted forward line of Jose Barreto, Baichung Bhutia and George Ekeh was throttled even as the local team got a goal in the 23rd minute. In the third and last minute of injury time, Barreto stretched the defence and gave a back-pass to Vasudev Mondal, whose kick deflected off Bhutia's body, catching goalie Feroze Sheriff on the wrong foot.
