Manchester United host FC Basel without Rooney

With Wayne Rooney out injured, Manchester United will be looking for its first win in this season's Champions League when they host FC Basel on Tuesday.
United were held to a 1-1 draw by Benfica in the opening Group C match, and also dropped their first points in the Premier League on Saturday at Stoke. But despite the 1-1 draw, United stayed in first place ahead of Manchester City on goal difference.
Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson will have to cope without Rooney against Basel because of a hamstring injury.
Ferguson says "hopefully, we can strengthen our position. Basel are a decent side though."
Basel lead Group C after beating Romanian champion Otelul Galati, who host Benfica on Tuesday.
