Vardy can extend his scoring streak to 12 straight English Premier League games on Saturday when Leicester play Swansea City away.
"You have to realize that there are not a lot of chances coming your way," Vardy said.
"Once you get them, you need to be taking them. Otherwise, you're going to get punished yourselves."

Leicester is in a surprising second place in the Premier League after 14 games, trailing Manchester City on goal difference and leading Manchester United by one point. Leicester only escaped relegation last season by winning nine of its last 11 games.
Much of this season's success can be credited to the 28-year-old Vardy, who signed for Leicester in 2012 from non-league football.
"He's very, very smart," Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri said, "very clever and very cool."
