run out (Wiaan Mulder)
49.3 OUT RUN OUT! Excellent effort by Wiaan Mulder! Lackadaisical running by the Windies skipper and he pays the ultimate price. Lungi Ngidi bowls it full and honing in at the stumps, Kraigg Brathwaite gets his weight on the front foot and clips it to the right of mid on. He times it well, resulting in the ball travelling to the fielder quickly and he sets off for a risky single. Wiaan Mulder swoops in, picks it up and hits the stumps at the bowling end. South Africa do not look too interested as the decision is referred upstairs. The replays show that Brathwaite had no part of his bat inside the crease when the bails were dislodged. Moreover, the Windies skipper did not stretch forward fully and plonked his bat instead of sliding it in. Also, the replays show that he ran sideways rather than running in a straight line, resulting in him falling just short of his crease at the bowling end. It turns out that Ngidi had overstepped but it does not affect the run out dismissal in any way. South Africa are delighted as they have finally managed to break this stand. Brathwaite goes for 35. The 61-run stand is broken and West Indies are 114/2. Just as OUT flashed on the big screen, heavens opened up, forcing the umpires to take the players off. It will be TEA on DAY 3! 114/2
