This long tour has finally come to an end. England finish on a high note. Both the teams will have a lot to learn from it. That is it from us. Hope you enjoyed our coverage. Goodbye!
Eoin Morgan, Man of the Match, says that the guys held their nerves and pulled it off in the end when one of the best finishers of the game was playing. He adds that the pitch did play pretty well and their batsmen put up a good show. He also says that he is happy to be back in form and get some runs under his belt.
MS DHONI says that in the last over he missed a couple of deliveries which could have crossed the fence. He adds that Rayudu had just come to the crease and mistimed a couple of shots and hence he took the responsibility to score the left runs. He further says that bowling in the end is an issue. He adds that they should take the positives and learn from the negatives. He says that all in all it was a great tour.
It all looked bleak when Kohli departed. Dhoni and Raina did try but were looking like a one-legged man hopping towards the total. They just could not find the ropes. Dhoni did take it to the end as 17 runs were required off the last over. He did start the over on a high but failed to deliver in the end handing England a 3 run victory.
Well India did start the chase well but then lost their way towards the end. Kohli and Dhawan had a good partnership going and at one time, it was looking like the two would steer India home. But then Dhawan departed. Raina came to the crease, played a decent innings along with Kohli and kept the required rate in check.
Chris Woakes to MS Dhoni
England win! Dhoni fails to strike it big! Bowls it short on off, Dhoni pulls it but straight to deep square leg. They take a single which is not enough. England win by 3 runs.
Full on off, Dhoni goes for the big slog but gets an inside edge through the square leg region. Dhoni takes off for a single but opts out in the end in order to keep strike. Strange decision but that's what the captain feels.
FOUR! Shot! Short of a length on off, Dhoni stays put and slaps it over the mid off fielder for a boundary.
Full on middle and leg, driven to mid-wicket but does not take the single.
Comedy of errors there! Short on off, Dhoni pulls it to deep mid-wicket and turns for the second run. Rayudu for some reason was not looking for it which puts Dhoni off. But the throw misses the stumps and the skipper calls his partner quickly for the second run. Buttler collects the wayward throw and now has a shy at the non-striker's end. A direct hit would have made things interesting but the ball goes over the stumps as Rayudu dives inside the crease. Phew! At this stage of the innings and with Dhoni around, you always need to be ready for the extra run.
SIX! Big, big hit! Full length delivery on leg, Dhoni clears his front leg and hammers it over the square leg fence for a biggie. Much needed for the Indians. 11 needed from 5 deliveries.
Chris Woakes to bowl the final over. 17 now needed of this last over!
to Ambati Rayudu
Full outside off, Rayudu looks to drive but eventually slices it towards cover.
Bowls it full just outside leg, Rayudu shuffles across and tries to flick it but misses. He was hoping for a wide but that was not the case.
to MS Dhoni
Full on off, driven through covers for a single.
FOUR! Shot! Low full toss on middle and leg, Dhoni stays put and heaves it through the mid-wicket region for a boundary.
LEG BYE! Full on leg, Rayudu looks to flick it on the on side but misses and is struck on the pads. They take one.
WIDE! Way, way outside off, almost outside the pitch. The umpire spreads his arms to call it a wide.
Slower one on off, Rayudu goes for the big shot but gets an inside edge past the stumps and through to the fine leg region. They take a couple.
Steven Finn to Ambati Rayudu
Another short one on off, Rayudu goes for the pull but gets an inside edge onto the pads. The ball crawls away to the mid off region as they take a single.
