George Fredrik Linde Profile

George Linde is a Cape Town-born left-arm orthodox bowler who made his First-Class debut at a young age of 21. Representing the Western Province, the spinner also showcased his batting skills down the order.

George holds a good amount of experience at the domestic circuit in all the formats of the game. His figures are impressive as he has accumulated more than 300 domestic wickets across formats which also includes a 10-wicket haul at the First-Class level. Not to forget his batting abilities as the talented player has half-centuries to his name in all the formats of the game at the domestic level.

Linde was unlucky in terms of grabbing an international opportunity but the southpaw remained a consistent performer. The retirement of JP Duminy and Imran Tahir post the 2019 World Cup meant that an international opportunity was not far away from him. It took him a while in catching the attention of the selectors but finally, after some decent all-round performance against India A in mid-2019, Linde was named in South Africa's T20I squad as a replacement for JJ Smuts, who missed the bus on fitness grounds. He didn't get the chance to make his debut though. Later on, Linde was included in the South African Test squad, replacing Keshav Maharaj who picked up a shoulder injury.
