Jamshedpur-born Sunny Gupta is a right arm off-break bowler and a right handed batsman. He started off his career by playing for Jharkhand and then shifted to Tamil Nadu. Former Delhi Daredevil all-rounder, S Sriram helped him get insights into the thoughts and techniques of batsmen.

Some years ago, when he was at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore, Sunny got the opportunity to bowl at some of India’s best batsmen at the nets and learn from an interaction with Harbhajan Singh who shared with him the importance of sticking to the natural bowling style and working on the strengths. Delhi Daredevils signed him in 2012 for the fifth edition of the IPL.
