Pramod Madushan Liyanagamage Profile

Pramod Madushan Liyanagamage, born on December 14, 1993, in Hambantota, Sri Lanka, is a right-arm medium-fast bowler who has steadily risen through the ranks to represent the national team in both One Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. His cricketing journey began at Theraputta National School in Hambantota, where his talent as a fast bowler was evident from a young age.​



Madushan's early promise led him to Australia in 2013, where he played for the Narre Warren Cricket Club in Victoria. During his six-month stint, he impressed by taking over 25 wickets, an experience that significantly boosted his confidence and honed his skills. Upon returning to Sri Lanka, he was selected to play for Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club, making his first-class debut in February 2015 against Ragama Cricket Club. Despite a modest start, he persisted and became a regular fixture in the domestic circuit by 2018, known for his consistent performances and ability to deliver under pressure.​



His dedication paid off when he was included in the Sri Lanka A squad for the series against Australia A in June 2022. His impressive performance in that series earned him a call-up to the national team, and he made his ODI debut against Australia on June 24, 2022, at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Later that year, he was named in the T20I squad for the Asia Cup and debuted against Pakistan on September 9, 2022, in Dubai. In the Asia Cup final, he delivered a standout performance, taking four wickets and playing a crucial role in Sri Lanka's victory.



Madushan's journey from domestic cricket to the international arena is a testament to his perseverance and hard work. His ability to adapt and perform in high-pressure situations has made him a valuable asset to the Sri Lankan cricket team. As he continues to develop his skills and gain experience, he is poised to play a significant role in the future successes of Sri Lankan cricket.
