Sarthak Ranjan Profile
A powerful top-order batter with a fearless approach, Sarthak Ranjan has carved a path through persistence and late recognition in Indian domestic cricket. Known for his clean striking and attacking intent, the Delhi batter grabbed wider attention after a prolific run in local T20 leagues that eventually opened the doors to the biggest stage of franchise cricket.
Ranjan represents Delhi in domestic cricket and is a right-handed batter who can also bowl occasional legbreaks. He made his T20 debut in 2016 during the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, followed by his List A debut in the 2016-17 Vijay Hazare Trophy. His First-class debut came later in the 2018-19 Ranji Trophy season for Delhi. Though opportunities at the senior domestic level were limited, he continued to stay active in club and regional tournaments while building his reputation as a power-hitter.
Ranjan's breakthrough moment arrived in the Delhi Premier League in 2025, where he played for the North Delhi Strikers and finished among the leading run-scorers of the tournament with a string of impactful innings and an aggressive strike rate. He scored 449 runs in 9 games, including a magnificent 58-ball hundred. His performances in the competition earned him recognition and eventually led to his selection in the IPL when the Kolkata Knight Riders signed him for the 2026 season, marking a significant milestone in his career.
