So, that's it as far the coverage of this game is concerned. The next ODI between the two teams will be on Sunday, 25th June, at the same venue. The weather forecast isn't great for the weekend either. Let's hope the rain gods relent. The action will start at 0900 local, 1300 GMT. Do join us for that game. Until next time, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
India had a decent outing with the bat in the 39.2 overs that happened today. Shikhar Dhawan continued his form from the Champions trophy to stroke an elegant 87 while comeback man Ajinkya Rahane utilized the opportunity to conjure a fifty of his own. The pair put on 132 for the first wicket before the Windies struck thrice for just 53 runs to slow things down. Skipper Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni were planning to open up but instead, the heavens opened up to play spoilsport. Devendra Bishoo and Jason Holder were tidy for the hosts.
UPDATE 1548 LOCAL - The inevitable has happened. Rain has the final say, THE GAME HAS BEEN CALLED OFF. It was asking too much really with the weather not relenting since the first interruption.
UPDATE 1530 LOCAL - Scrap the previous update, time to put our favorite sentence of the day 'RAIN IS BACK'. Covers are back on too.
UPDATE 1520 LOCAL - Now this is big news, the rain has stopped completely and the covers are also coming off. Play to resume at 1600 local. The Indian innings is done, West Indies' target will be 194 from 26 overs. (D/L/S)
UPDATE 1500 LOCAL - The rain has returned, that only compounds the issue as the situation continues go be grim. The cut off time is 1621 local for a T20 chase to happen. So, another 1 hour and 20 minutes left.
UPDATE 1407 LOCAL - The rain has finally stopped. However, the intensity of the showers has caused a beating to the outfield. Lot of puddles on the covers.
UPDATE 1335 LOCAL - Ominous signs from the Queens Park Oval, it's raining heavily now and there is lightning as well. Things looking very bleak at the moment.
UPDATE 1255 LOCAL - We have started to lose overs now. An over for every eight minutes is the count.
Once again the RAIN HAS GOT HEAVIER and the players are running back to their respective dressing rooms. And by the looks of it, we are in for a big delay. We will keep updating you. Stay tuned!
