That concludes our coverage for this game. It turned out to be a pretty one-sided affair much like the Test matches, although Bangladesh were the dominant side for a change. The venue for the second ODI remains the same but it will be a day-night contest. Do join us at 1430 local (1830 GMT) on 25th July for all the action. Until then, it's goodbye and cheers!
Winning Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says that it's tiring but his knee is alright. Says that he has not bowled much in the last few months but he enjoyed on the ground today. Adds that they just need to play with heart and whatever gone is gone and they wanted to start well in this series. Hopes to carry the form forward. Reminds us that they won against South Africa in 2007 and feels that the pitch here suits them. Praises Shakib and Tamim for their knocks and lauds Rahim's cameo as well.
Tamim Iqbal is the Man of the Match for his fine century. He says it was tough going for them and the first 10 overs were very difficult. Feels the wicket became easier after the 25th over. States that they had a score in mind and luckily Rahim played a handy cameo to take them there. Admits they didn't play good cricket in Tests but this is the format they play their best. Further adds that they wanted to play their 'A' game and is glad that they managed to do so.
Jason Holder, the Windies skipper, says that Bangladesh played some good cricket and rues their death bowling. Adds that they created chances as a bowling unit and needed partnerships while batting. Feels that they need to execute their plans well and need to bat better. Mentions about preparing well for the next game and talking about their plans. Is immediate to say that they had plans today also but it didn't work as they didn't hold on to their chances.
It was a sorry batting card for the hosts and the fact that their last wicket partnership was their best effort of the innings really tells the story. Credit should be given to the Bangladesh bowlers for the way they bowled. They executed their plan accurately and every bowler played his role. The tourists managed to create pressure right from the beginning which resulted in the fall of wickets at regular intervals. Earlier, the double century stand between Shakib and Tamim along with the cameo by Rahim powered Bangladesh to a challenging total. In fact, the quickfire stand between Rahim and Tamim in a way proved to the differential factor. Altogether, a convincing win for the Asian team to begin the series.
It wasn't an easy pitch for stroke making and once Bangladesh took their total past 250, it became even tougher for the home team. Despite having two powerhouses opening for them, Windies never got going. Chris Gayle adopted a cautious approach where he was concentrating more on the singles while Evin Lewis' stay was a short one. Shai failed to give enough hope and once Chris Gayle got run out, the run chase fell flat on its face. Shimron Hetmyer did try to revive his team's fortune by forming a few useful partnerships but he also departed soon after completing his half century.
Bangladesh taste their first success on this tour. The Test series was a dismal one for them but the change in leadership has brought them luck. Mashrafe Mortaza surely knows how to guide these bunch of boys and the skipper himself led from the front. In spite of not being fully fit, he bowled beautifully, mixing his pace and length, and finished with a 4-wicket haul. All in all, a clinical bowling performance by them, although the last wicket partnership put a little bit of blemish as it really tested their patience.

Mustafizur Rahman To Devendra Bishoo
They have done it. Windies have done it. No they have not won the game but they have managed to not get bowled out. The last wicket partnership really frustrated the Bangla bowlers for 56 balls. The last delivery was a shorter one to which Bishoo swung his bat and missed. All over, BANGLADESH WIN BY 48 RUNS!

An off pace delivery, on a fuller length and angling down, Bishoo tries to play the reverse sweep but it takes the back of the bat, brushes his gloves and then loops behind. Falls well in front of the keeper though.

Rubel Hossain To Devendra Bishoo
Is this it? Noooo... A wild slog by Bishoo. He gets a big top edge over mid-wicket and Sabbir runs behind it from the ring. Puts in a dive but to no avail. Two taken and that brings up the 50-run stand, first one of the innings. Wow.

FOUR! Misfield in the deep! Also that was crisply struck by Bishoo. He takes his front leg away from the line of the delivery and whips it down to wide long on. Mosaddek moves across to his left in the deep, puts in a dive to stop the ball but it's not cleanly done. It ends up rolling back to the rope.
