Right then, this is it from this game. The action continues in Big Bash League as another game between Hobart Hurricances and Brisbane Heat is already underway as it was supposed to start at 1500 IST (0930 GMT). So switch tabs and continue enjoying some quality action. Cheers!
Daniel Sams wins the Man of the Match award for his exuberant effort with the blade.
Sydney Thunder continue on their merry way in this campaign. After being put to bat, they did not shy away from the task and racked up 209 runs on the board. Courtesy of some brilliant hitting by Daniel Sams and Alex Hales as well. The bowlers came in and bowled freely. The lot stuck to their plan and executed it really well to put the Melbourne Renegades' arsenal in dust. It was Gurinder Sandhu who started the proceedings and the Renegades were three wickets down inside the Powerplay. The bowlers did not fail to capitalize on it and bundled out Melbourne Renegades for just 80 runs. Mohammad Hasnain was the pick of the bowler with three wickets. Gurinder Sandhu and Tanveer Sangha ended up with a couple of wickets. While, Nathan McAndrew and Daniel Sams took a wicket apiece.
Maybe the pressure got early to the Melbourne Renegades batters. They never got going in this chase. Their decision to bowl first has hurt them a lot here. The Renegades were six wickets down in just seven overs that tells you everything about their innings. There was a phase when Kane Richardson knocked a few runs but once he fell the Renegades were bundled out within no time for just 80 runs. They could not even cross the 96 runs which was made by Thunder in just 10 overs.
A dominating performance by Sydney Thunder with the ball and they have won this game with a huge margin of 129 runs. They extend their winning run in this campaign and move up to the second spot in the points table. Unluckily for Mohammad Hasnain there were no more wickets left in the bag as he missed out on his Hat-Trick delivery.
