Right then, that is all we have from this game. UP have notched up their second win and will surely take a lot of confidence from this game. On Saturday, the 11th of March, we have Gujarat taking on Delhi and that game will start at 7.30 pm IST (2 pm GMT). Do join us early for the build-up. Cheers!
Alyssa Healy, the skipper of UP is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for her breathtaking knock!  She says she is really pleased by the bowling effort as they managed to restrict Bangalore to a total well underneath 200 as every team is going big in the tournament and to restrict such a side to below 140 is amazing. She also adds that she is really proud of the team and feels that Anjali Sarvani bowled really well in this game. She says that promoting Devika Vaidya in the order was a tactical move and her being at the top removed pressure from her. She also says that she was surprised to see her bat at 7-8 at times when the Aussies last arrived in India but her promotion helped the team really well in this game. She closes by saying that the push in the second half was purely for the NRR and it worked for them, sometimes it doesn't but this time it did and they benefitted massively from that.
Sophie Ecclestone is up for a quick chat. She says that Healy showed how good she is in this game. Tells that Healy was due for a big score and showed her class in this game and credits Devika Vaidya for the way she played. Mentions that she is pleased to get a few wickets on the board. Tells that her change of pace was better in this game.  Tells that they have a great overseas group and jokingly adds that she was also on the verge of getting dropped at one point in time. Mentions that Shabnim Ismail has been great around the group.
Smriti Mandhana, the skipper of Bangalore says that they have started well in all the games but they lost wickets in a cluster and as a top-order batter, it is her duty to put some good runs on the board for the bowlers to defend. She adds that they were looking to go with a bit of a cautious approach at the top but it did not work and they were left with no total at the end. She adds that the changes were made to find a balance in the team but it did not work out well. She closes by saying that she is talking with the team on a regular basis and it is really important for all to look into the mirror and see what they have been doing wrong and rectify it in no time as they have no room for further mistakes now.
Time for some interviews now...
Bangalore, well, they need to start clicking as a unit. They have all the superstars in the world but it is about execution on the field and that is lacking at the moment. Perry was the only one who stood tall with the bat while the rest of the batting unit failed to deliver again and the bowling unit too was clueless again as Healy hammered the ball all around the park.
This win was set up by the UP bowlers who bowled brilliantly on this flat deck at the Brabourne Stadium and restricted Bangalore to a below-par total. Healy was brilliant with her bowling changes and used her spinners brilliantly as Sophie Ecclestone and Deepti Sharma picked 7 wickets between them. Healy then decided to show all her might with the bat and smashed a brilliant 96 off just 47 balls as Devika Vaidya played a perfect supporting role in this massive UP win by 10 wickets!
UP have absolutely demolished Bangalore here! They were not chasing a big total but they have made an absolute mockery of this run-chase. This will boost their net run rate massively and for Bangalore, things are getting tougher and tougher. They have lost four in a row now and need to do something special in the tournament from hereon to stand a chance of making it to the top 3!
