WES AGAR HAS BEEN ADJUDGED AS THE MAN OF THE MATCH. He is up for an interview. Agar starts by saying that it is usually tough to get a win in Perth and he also says that he is happy with his performance. On being asked about playing with his brother Ashton, he adds that Ashton was a bully in backyard cricket. He used to get bullied by him. Further adds that it has helped him to be a better player. He signs up by saying that it is always good to play against his brother.
Perth Scorchers' innings while casing was never off to a flier as they would have expected. Josh Inglis departed early and there was no real fight from the batsmen there. Apart from Liam Livingstone none looked settled against the Strikers' bowling attack. Earlier they were poor with their bowling too. Their bowlers being clobbered all around the park. Barring a few good catches in the deep they had a sorry day in the field.
It all started with Adelaide Strikers winning the bat flip and opting to bat first. Head's decision proved right as Philip Salt and Jake Weatherald came out all guns Blazing. Salt reached his fifty too and contributions from Carey, Head and Wells helped the Strikers to 181 runs on the board. On the bowling front Adelaide were superb as they chipped in with wickets at regular intervals making life difficult for the Perth batsmen. Wes Agar was superb with the ball as he chipped in 3 wickets at a good economy.
What a Friday we have had today. Two matches and both were entertaining. In the first one Hobart Hurricanes romped home against Sydney Thunder. Here in Perth the Strikers have prevailed over the home team.
