The action keeps on coming in Pakistan Super League as we have Super Sunday next up. Peshawar Zalmi will take on Karachi Kings at 3 pm IST (9:30 am GMT) and then Lahore Qalandars will face Quetta Gladiators at 8 pm IST (2:30 pm GMT). Do join us and make sure you tune in early for the buildup. Till then, Adios.
Shadab Khan, the skipper of Islamabad United says that the way Jason Roy started the innings was good, they did come back in the game, but Umar Akmal played a good cameo and Sarfaraz Ahmed finished things off, and that's how they lost the game. Adds that there were moments that had gone their way but this is the nature of the format. Mentions that there are a lot of positives to take from this game, but the way the game ended there is a good positive way to look at it.
Sarfaraz Ahmed, the victorious skipper is also the Player of the Match for his brilliant innings. He tells that he was talking with James Vince just to rotate the strike and build a partnership. Adds that the openers and Umar Akmal played a really good innings. Tells that his bowlers were also very good. Regarding Shahid Afridi, he says he talked before about opening the bowling with him and it just worked out.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Jason Roy is down for a chat. He says that chasing 200 on this wicket is difficult but they came through. Mentions that they just have to win every game from here, they started on a tough note but now they have to win. Adds that there was a lot of dew, so it was not easy for the bowlers. States that Sarfaraz Ahmed is a very passionate captain and this game will give him a lot of confidence.
Shadab Khan was the only bowler who got success on this batting-friendly pitch. He bowled really well and got important breakthroughs but other than him, everyone leaked runs. They had a big score to defend but failed in the process. Shadab Khan will be really disappointed with the bowling performance.
It was easy to bat on this wicket, but with chase comes a huge amount of pressure, however, Sarfaraz Ahmed batted without breaking a sweat. It was important for them to get a good start and that was given by Roy and Ahsan. Roy brought up his fifty before giving away his wicket and then Ahsan followed him. Vince got a start but failed to continue. The skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed stayed in the middle and took the game till the end. He batted with confidence and took his team over the line. Not to forget the important cameo from Umar Akmal who scored 23 off 8 balls which proved to be very crucial.
Take a bow skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed. An astonishing innings under so much pressure. Also, Quetta Gladiators have chased down 200 or more in consecutive matches, and that too pretty comfortably. They also get the avenge of the early loss against Islamabad United.
