So that's it from this game. England are back to winning ways after their loss against Pakistan. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have lost two games on the trot and will have their work cut out before their next game. Join us again on Sunday, 9th June as two of the heavyweights go head to head as India take on Australia at Kennington Oval. That game will begin at 1030 Local (0930 GMT). Join us for that one. Till then switch tabs to get updates on the game between Afghanistan and New Zealand. Till then, cheers!
England skipper, Eoin Morgan says there were more positives to take out of this game, they took lessons from the Pakistan game and got it all right in this one. On Roy's performance, England skipper says it is great to see Jason Roy make a huge score and set the platform of which the lower order batsmen could take advantage of. On the opening stand, Morgan says he felt nice when the opening stand did well against the spin threat early on. Also reckons that their own bowlers are a huge threat as well with the variety in their side. Mentions that it is nice to have improved but the key is to keep improving. Signs off by informing us that there are no serious concerns in regards to Jos Buttler's injury and they will further assess it in the next 48 hours.
Bangladesh skipper, Mashrafe Mortaza says 389 is too many and after the first 5 overs they took the game away from them completely. On how difficult it is to bowl to players like Roy, Mortaza says in such sort of wicket it is very difficult to bowl to them as they are used to playing in this wicket. He admits that looking back he would have made a different choice after winning the toss. He though insists that it was a good wicket to bat on in the second innings and believes that 320-330 would have been chaseable. On Shakib's performance, Mortaza says that he has been excellent with both the bat and ball and he hopes he can continue his fine form. Mortaza ends by saying they still have six more games to go and he hopes that other player can step up in those games.
For his brilliant knock of 153, Jason Roy has been named the MAN OF THE MATCH. Roy says that 100 in a winning contest means more. On his innings, he says they just built the innings well and gave themselves a good chance as they were not sure how the pitch will play. On their performance in the World Cup, Roy says that only 3 matches have been played but they have done well so far. He says that there has not been any such word from the skipper as he didand he further adds that he has had a good tournament so far.
Coming to the English bowling, they bowled with venom and pace early on in the innings. Jofra Archer especially was really hard to play. He bowled a lethal first spell but had only 1 wicket to show but he eventually got two more as he came back in the end. The other bowlers too were impressive and with the cushion of runs behind them, they easily held on for a brilliant win. Ben Stokes was the last bowler to be introduced but he too picked up 3 wickets. A lovely victory for the Brits thus, they are back on track after their shock loss against Pakistan and they head to second position in the Points Table as things stand. Do stay tuned for the presentation.
Set 387 to win, the Asian side was always going to be second favorite. They lost one of their openers early but Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal did consolidate. The former continued even as the latter departed and batted exceptionally to make a ton against all odds. He stitched valuable stands in the middle and was given support to some extent by Mushfiqur Rahim. That though would never be enough as there were too many runs on the board and the required run rate was always getting out of hand. Despite the lower order trying to fight, it was always a lost cause and eventually the home side romped home.
This has been a thrashing of sorts. Even though Bangladesh almost batted out their fifty overs, they have still been beaten by a huge margin of more than 100 runs. The hosts have shown here exactly why they are the favorites for this World Cup. Their power with the bat showed today and they have logged their second win of the tournament.

OUT! That's it from this game. Jofra steams in and follows the yorker with a quick sharp bouncer. Mustafizur looks to duck but he is late and the ball hits him very high on the bat and lobs up to the right of Bairstow. He gets there and takes a simple catch. ENGLAND WIN BY 106 RUNS.
