Right then, that is it from the game. India have won the first Test comfortably and would look to cleansweep the Test series. Bangladesh,on the other hand, will look to level the series and win the second one. The second Test will start on 22nd of December at 9.00 am IST (3.30 am GMT) at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka. As you know, our build-up will begin much earlier. So do join us for the same. Till then, goodbye and cheers!
KL Rahul, the skipper of India says that the results didn't go their way in the one-day series so it's a good start for this one. Adds that the Bangladeshi batters were playing well and getting comfortable runs and the way they batted in the second innings made it a bit difficult and it's good to start the series with a win. Says that from the position they were in the first innings, they did well and their bowling in the first innings set the game for them. Applauds Gill and Pujara for their performance and says that they haven't played test series in a while but the bowlers did well and got timely breakthroughs. Ends by saying that he is overall pleased with the team's performance.
Kuldeep Yadav is the PLAYER OF THE MATCH for his 8 wickets in the game. He says that he is happy with his performance both with the bat and ball and adds that it was a good Test for him. Tells that the wicket was a bit quicker in the first innings and in the second innings it was challenging as the wicket was a bit slower. Tells that as a wrist spinner, you have more revs on the ball and there are more variations as well and that helps in the middle. Says that he worked on his rhythm in the last year and that has helped him.
Shakib Al Hasan, the skipper of Bangladesh says that it was a good batting pitch and they didn't bat well. Adds that it was difficult for them as they are playing Test cricket after 5-6 months but it's not an excuse. Says that they did identify their mistakes in the second innings but it was not enough and credits Zakir Hasan for playing really well. Ends by saying that to win a Test match, they need to play good cricket for all five days and especially to get a result against India. Mentions that is difficult against a quality side but they will come back stronger.
Time for the Presentation.
Bangladesh, on the other hand, do have some positives to take away from this game. However, they need to be far better than this, if they want to win Test matches regularly. They were in a strong position after the first session of this Test match but let things drift away from them. They dropped quite a few chances in the first innings and that is not what is expected from a Test side. The batting unit too faltered miserably in the first innings as they were bowled out for 150 but the positives will be how they batted in the second innings and the way their two young openers showed character and grit in the middle. Zakir Hasan scored a century on debut and Shakib too got some runs in end with his counter-attacking knock. Overall, a lot to improve for Bangladesh and they need to play 5 days of good Test cricket to make more impact in the next Test match.
India showed in this Test match why there are one of the best Test teams in the world. They were put under the pump in the first session of Day 1 when they lost three early wickets. However, the depth of this Indian side came to the rescue and India managed to notch up over 400 runs courtesy of a fine partnership between Iyer and Pujara. In the second outing with the bat, Gill and Pujara notched up their respective centuries as the pitch got better to bat on. On the bowling front, India would be petty happy with how Kuldeep Yadav went about this business in this comeback game. He finished with 8 wickets in the Test match which included a  five-wicket haul in the first innings but it was an all-round bowling effort from India on a pitch that was pretty good to bat on and they had the attack for all seasons as everyone contributed their bit to this win.
India have wrapped up the game on Day 5 in just 50 minutes and they now go 1-0 up in this two-match Test series. More importantly, they have notched up important World Test Championship points and this will keep India in the hunt for a place in the World Test Championship final to be held in 2023. Bangladesh, on the other hand, showed some fight in the last innings of this Test match but really, it was too much to do in the end for them.

Axar Patel To Taijul Islam OUT!
OUT! BOWLED! They needed 4 wickets on Day 5 and have wrapped this up pretty quickly. Slightly shorter, and it turns just a bit to beat Taijul Islam who tries to defend it off the back foot. The ball knocks over the off pole and it's all done and dusted. India win by 188 runs.

Kuldeep Yadav To Khaled Ahmed
Tossed up nicely on middle. Khaled Ahmed presses forward to defend but misses it. The ball goes off his pads and towards the leg slip where the fielder takes it. There is a bit of excitement among the Indian players as they appeal but the umpire is not interested and everyone on the field including the batter and the bowler have some smile on their face.
Khaled Ahmed is the last man in.

Kuldeep Yadav To Ebadot Hossain OUT!
OUT! TAKEN! Kuldeep Yadav strikes again in his second over as well. A good catch taken by Shreyas Iyer at short leg and Ebadot Hossain departs for a duck. Fuller and on middle, Ebadot Hossain looks to flick it but gets the inside half of his bat and Shreyas Iyer takes a good catch at short leg. Bangladesh are nine down now!

Kuldeep Yadav To Shakib Al Hasan OUT!
OUT! BOWLED! Kuldeep Yadav, you beauty. He strikes in his first over.  This was actually really slow through the air and Kuldeep Yadav does it for India. Tosses it up on leg, it turns away from the batter. Shakib Al Hasan looks to slog sweep it but misses it completely and the ball rattles the stumps. Kuldeep Yadav gets the big fish. The skipper walks out for 84 and it's an end of a very entertaining knock.
