Misbah leads Faisalabad to consolation win
Misbah-ul-Haq scored an unbeaten 93 as Faisalabad Wolves scored a consolation 10-run victory over Kandurata Maroons.
After being put into bat, Faisalabad lost a flurry of early wickets. Mohammad Salman, was key though as he hung around with Misbah to help the Wolves post a memorable total.
Nuwan Kulasekara gave Kandurata the prefect start, picking up 2/34 in his 4 overs.
Despite not conceding runs, Ajantha Mendis could manage just one wicket, ending with 1/27 in four.
But it was Misbah, who hit his second successive half-century, guided his side to a match-winning position.
In their chase, the Maroons were behind the eight-ball from the onset as they lost wickets as regular intervals.
Kumar Sangakkara played a steady hand of 44 but was dismissed just as he was trying to up the tempo.
Pacer Ehsan Adil took three wickets while spinner Imran Khalid took two as Faisalabad earned a memorable win.
