Saina Nehwal Congratulated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi After Winning Silver at World Badminton
World number two Saina Nehwal lost to Spain's Carolina Marin in the world badminton final on Sunday to settle for the silver medal, which was the best performance by an Indian in the showpiece.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated ace Indian shuttler Saina Nehwal for winning a silver medal at the prestigious World Badminton Championships in Indonesia.
"A Silver at the World Badminton Championships is a momentous feat. Congratulations to @NSaina. Her accomplishments truly inspire," the Prime Minister tweeted.

This was India's fifth medal at the World Championship after PV Sindhu clinched the bronze twice in 2013 and 2014 and Jwala Gutta and Ashwini Ponnappa notched up a bronze in women's doubles at the 2011 edition.
