Leander Paes is in line to win two Slam titles back-to-back as he and Elena Vesnina play in the mixed doubles summit clash on Sunday, a day after Paes partnered Radek Stepanek to the men's doubles title.
In-form Paes eyes his 14th Grand Slam and is currently enjoying good form. He and Stepanek upset the dangerous top seeds, Bob and Mike Bryan, 7-6 (7/1), 6-2 on Sunday in one hour and 24 minutes. Paes even thanked Stepanek for helping him in his game. " "I have to thank my partner Radek for putting me on his shoulders and carrying me through the week," he said. (Read full report here)
Vesnina on the other hand has also had more success than disappointment with her Indian pairings. She and Sania Mirza reached the semi-finals of the tournament (women's doubles) but could not carry their form further. Vesnina however had better luck with Paes as the Fifth seeds came from behind to tame Roberta Vinci and Daniele Bracciali 5-7, 6-2, 10-7 in the semifinals, earlier in the week.

Praises for each other have come as a natural consequent to their form and success. "Honestly, he is the best partner you can choose and I really wanted to play with him," said Vesnina about Paes. The Indian returned the favour in no uncertain terms.
"We've spoken about it (the pairing) so much, that if you have good chemistry in a team, magic happens," he said.
They will play 8th seeds Bethanie Mattek Sands and Horia Tecau.
