Suranga Lakmal (2/32), Thisara Perera (2/29), Ajantha Mendis (2/55), Ashan Priyanjan (2/11) and Chathuranga de Silva (1/33) restricted Bangladesh to 204/7 in 50 overs.
Bangladesh were off to a dream start as they picked up three Sri Lankan wickets for just eight runs.
Sri Lankan opener Lahiru Thirimanne (33) held his fort as wickets tumbled at the other end.

Chathuranga de Silva (44) made a valuable contribution with the bat to keep Sri Lanka alive in the middle overs. He and Mathews added 82 runs for the sixth wicket.
